KP's arrest led to many downfall of pro-Tamil channels?

It puzzles me that why "pro-Tamil" channel- www.puthinam.com- won't function anymore. Here is the message from its website.

This is to advise due to personal reasons this website will not be functioning anymore.

KP's statements were being released only by a few sites after his big leadership announcement. Lankasri, Puthinam and Tamilnaatham.Lankasri continues to publish what army.lk and defence.lk releases.

Tamil circles have been heavily infiltrated by RAW and SL agents nowadays; I won't be even surprised if "Tamilnet" hits the dust, especially after the arrest of "Raj Rajaratnam".

Even Tamilnaadham has stopped functioning with the same announcement. But after such a major setback, disturbances like this are understandable. But we have enough people and mental strength to weather the storm. we shall overcome...

Ashok Kumar said...

Puligalin Kural had an announcent that they are going to have a satellite uplink shortly. Maaveerar Dhinam is nearing. Will there be an address or announcement on that day? Many details regarding the final days of the war are slowly emerging. But many of them are contradictory and authenticity is not proved.

Bhairav, I request you to write about whatever you hear from your personal sources regarding those events and present conditions...

Fr.Jagath Kasper is writing regularly regarding the final days in Nakkeran. We do not know whether he is reliable because he is very close to DMK and Congress. One website has branded him as RAW agent. As Bhairav has commented, many infiltrators will be there from intelligence departments...

AK,

Tells us what you hear from the final days of the war. If Pulikalinkural makes VP's death as offical on Nov 27, that won't surprise me anymore. There have been some official statements time to time from the remaining LTTE leaders that VP is no more, but VP's followers never wanted to buy it.

Badri said it right at the beginning as VP is no more when the emerging contradictory news came out as VP was dead, many did not it buy it.

Fairly wishful thinking. It makes for a better answer than accepting the fact that most folks inside Sri Lanka are glad to see the LTTE thugs dead and gone and for the most part the only ones supporting the old school treachery are diaspora dweebs who have never set foot outside the 'burbs of London and Toronto.

Time to adjust your attitudes and 'thinking' about solutions to the many problems still facing the Tamil minorities in the North and East.

Tamilnaatham and Puthinam are owned by the same guy in Australia. The my owner of both those sites came to my uncle's house in Canada. My uncle tried to get a hold of him yesterday but no answer.

NBAglober said...

Tamilnaatham.com and Puthinam.com were pro KP and releasing what KP was saying. Now that KPs statements have been dismissed i guess he the guy running Tamilnaatham and puthinam feels guilty? And is doing it out of shame or was pressured by the other media outlets such as pathivu, tamilne etc who didn't release any of KP's statements after his said he was the new leader.

also I don't know about Kasper. He keeps writing stuff like as if he was there during the final stages. Nedumaran's statements are believeable. VP looked at him as a father figure when he was in India

Bhairav said...

veeram,

Whatever success VP gained through first 30 years of struggle negated by the last few weeks of his actions when the war hit the final stages.

Any newborn baby knows that they had to retreat into jungles after the debacle of "Theepan&Vithusha' mission". He was dealt a very bad hand and decided to hold onto it as his decision-making skills fell apart. Enemy can be bad and evil but you put yourself and 10s of 1000s of people in harms way with your amature decisions.

Think about where we are now?

Bhairav said...

Premature introduction of TAF and the more publicity of Sea Tigers were not a good signs of tactical moves. You should always maintain a low profile especially when you're not recognized by IC.

The answer for Sinhala chauvinism is VP type leader but we won't get it anytime soon. This time i prefer someone who can think on his foot with lateral mind.

The Sri Lanka government’s recent response to Damilvany Gnanakumar, a British citizen (the girl who was recently released from the concentration camps)

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/sep/15/sri-lanka-war-on-tamil-tigers

indicates that they do not want the inmates of the camp to have access to the media or foreign media.

The issue here is not who she is or what she said, but the GOSL’s response to her statements. The GOSL made a statement that they will not release any more foreign nationals who were being held in the camps. They also arrested members of Damilvany Gnanakumar’s family who sheltered her, so that she stopped giving her statements to the international press.

The salient point here is that the Sri Lanka government’s response is to refuse freedom to people in the camp because they did not want them to speak out.

There is a possibility that KP would have exposed this guy to SL intels who may have tracked his relatives in Colomobo and other parts of SL, then this guy may have decided to make some deals with GoSL in order to protect his interests and relatives.

I had a chance to watch the 50th anniversary of Kamalthasan's cine-field life through Vijay TV. Everybody praised Kamal as this and that; it's normal in a country like India where people are into cult practice.

I wonder what Kamal did it to "Tamil community" ?

The bottom line is that he became successful in his chosen field and rewarded for his work. What he did was pure self-consumption: screwing number of cine-field actresses, living large and ignored the poor when he had a chance to make a difference.

When he has become broke after the series of his failed movies, he opted to lean on the same community he ignored before. 15 years ago, my uncle tried to meet Kamal, he simply ignored the invitation because my uncle was Eelam Tamil. According to many, Kamal thought "Eelam Tamils" are kind of second class citizen compared to Tamilnadu folks. After Eelam Tamils get prominence in the international circles, now Tamil cine-field stars started to lick our arses.

EU Commission: Sri Lanka fails to meet Rights thresholds for GSP+
[TamilNet, Tuesday, 20 October 2009, 02:27 GMT]
"[N]ational legislation of Sri Lanka incorporating international human rights conventions, in particular the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the Convention against Torture and other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, is not being effectively implemented. In the light of these findings, the Commission will now consider whether a temporary withdrawal of some or all of Sri Lanka's GSP+ benefits is called for and make a suitable proposal to EU Member States in the Council. If such a proposal is made and subsequently adopted by the Council, it would enter into force six months after the date of adoption," the European Commission said in the notice summarizing the Commission's findings on the Sri Lanka's GSP+ status released today.

Bhairav,

Probably the presence of thousands of injured cadres and people (Maaveerar's families) also might have influenced the way Tigers had handled the last phase of the war. They could have retreated into the jungles but how could they leave these people high and dry and go? Then also they would have been criticized for doing so..

Actually, we do not know exactly what had happened. Nedumaran says that after Killinochi's fall itself, the leadership had shifted many units and weapons underground. Even last week in an interview, he had emphatically said that Prabhakaran is still alive and the Indian government is very much aware of it. The interviewer had grilled him to provide some evidence. He had replied that by doing so, he did not want to help both the srilankan and Indian intelligence dept's search.

It is very difficult to beleive that Prabhakaran would not have planned for the bloody climax of the Eelam war.He is not the person who would have resigned to the fate and left things to go astray.
After all this is his life's mission and he had sacrificed his entire life and his family for the sake of Eelam.

Answers to these questions would unfold only in course of time. May be we may have to wait for some more time to get to know the truth. Could such an organization built over a period of three decades and with several thousand lives, collapse like a pack of cards overnight?

The united States could not handle insurgencies either at Vietnam or now at Iraq and Afghanistan.

India is struggling to cope up with insurgencies all over the country. Naga, Mizoram, Manipur and Assam insurgencies are haunting them for several decades.

Naxalite's are troubling tham in more than five states apart from Muslim extermists at Kashmir.

Pakistan has its own problems with Baluchistan.

When big and mighty countries could not manage to eliminate insurgents even after several years/ decades of military action, will srilanka succeed in doing so against such a strong people's wrath? If so, for how long?

Ashok,

Until we become formidable one again, we should maintain low profile. Puligal needs at least another 5 years for its rebuilding process.

Have, notice 41,000 numbers (released IDPs) floating around only in the Lankan/pro-Lankan press?

I thinks the numbers just floating and nothing else.

There are rearrested and forcibly held in the yet another “transit” concentration camps…

I do not believe the media in Sri Lanka. In the guise of fighting terrorism, the government has muzzled and suppressed the independent press to the degree that no single publication or electronic media outlet in Sri Lanka is allowed to practice journalism in the way it should be.

Dissent is non-existent, self-censorship the order of the day; the ultimate victim – the ordinary citizen of Sri Lanka (not just Tamils) whose sources of information have dried up so completely that his only version of events mirrors that of the regime of the day.

Sri Lankan newspapers are forced to practice a Goebbelian form of reportage, thanks to totalitarian control over the media. Joseph Goebbels was Adolf Hitler’s most powerful weapon because his propaganda ensured the Nazis popular support.

Propaganda Minister in Hitler’s cabinet, Goebbels perfected an understanding of the “Big Lie” technique of propaganda, which is based on the principle that a lie, if audacious enough and repeated enough times, will be believed by the masses.

Dangerously, the theory led to success with most of Hitler’s Germany actually believing that they were on the right side of history until the very last moment which ended in the destruction of their country. It is tragic to see this trend taking root in Sri Lanka today –the same country that boasted such a vibrant and defiant press not so very long ago.

On the contrary, journalists have been slaughtered, abducted, assaulted, tortured and forced to flee their homeland all under the present regime. Investigations into a single one of these cases are yet to show any semblance of credibility.
